Motorola definitely likes to stick to its patterns of launching new devices every 10 months, so given the fact that back in July, two Moto X gizmos were launched, it’s safe to talk about a new one.

Rumor has it that the company is planning to launch a brand new Moto X handset in May/June of next year, this device may be called Moto X 4th Gen or Moto X 2016. If it decides to launch a new and improved version of the Moto X Play or the X Style device, the upcoming devices might be named Moto X Play 2 and Moto X Style 2. If you’re curious about some of the specs and other features that this new device will have, keep reading.

The upcoming Moto X may sport a 5.8-inch display with QuadHD resolution. If the company also decides to launch the Moto X Pure edition (2016 version) or Moto X Style 2, a 6-inch display with UHD resolution may be included. Motorola Moto X Play and Pure edition have the waterproof certificate, so it’s only fair that their follower have the same certificate and maybe Motorola will throw in the dust-resistant one as well. As for the chipsets, Motorola will opt for a Snapdragon 820 in Moto X 4th Generation. This is a strong processor which can be used for recording 4K videos without having to log in.

As for the RAM part, Motorola might just go with the 4 GB of RAM option for the Moto X device, the back end snapper was upgraded to 21 MP and it came with Dual LED flash in Moto X Play as well as the Pure one. However Moto X Style (Pure) is the only one that can record videos with QHD resolution. This is why in Moto X (4th Gen), Motorola may bump up the snapper to 27 MP and may add the 4K video support. As for the front snapper, it might be an 8 MP one with LED included.

Battery wise, Motorola opted for a 3000 mAh battery in Moto X Pure and a 3630 mAh battery unit for the Play one. The new Motorola device might be juiced up by a 4000 mAh battery and the latter will also support the fast charge element, Type-C USB port or the fingerprint scanner might also be part of the package. In 2016, the Android 6.1 might also be unveiled, so the new Moto X 4th Gen might have the latter on board.
