Microsoft Corporation made yet another big step to the world of business as it unveiled Skype for Business that is integrated into Office 365 thereby improving voice and video calls as well as meeting experiences.
The new update, which Microsoft has deeply integrated into Office 365, brings in enterprise calling features aiming at providing modern and simple ways for business organizations to keep their employees connected. Built on the accustomed Skype UI

The PSTN (public switched telephone network) Conferencing feature gives the employees a much more flexible option of simplydialing into a meeting from just the old school telephone that relies on alandline.This mode also allows the users in an organization to join meetings or conferences using PCs or even mobile devices. This feature utilizes Skype as a backend for the available telephone hardware.
Skype for Business also comes with PSTN calling feature that provides the Office 365 clients with the ability to subscribe to calling plans as well as phone numbers; a service that is managed and provided by Microsoft. This service has been rolled out to the United States market initially with plans of availing the service to other markets in future.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed that the new system is anchored to its Azure Cloud. The Cloud PBX (private branch exchange) feature allows organizations to abolish detached PBX systems and move to the cloud that will have Microsoft’s Office 365 E5 as the management center for communication. The Microsoft Azure Cloud is a computing platform that manages services and applications via a series of global networks that are managed by Microsoft and their host partners.
The cloud platform reduces costs and simplifies complex structures involved in the continued use of legacy PBX telephone system as well as the conferencing systems.
Microsoft Corporation has made big steps in trying to modernize the workplace by incorporating the old methods of communication into the modern systems.
