Android 6.0 Marshmallow is already running on a bunch of smartphones that have been released a few months ago, after coming installed on Google’s Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Until now, none of the Lenovo devices have been updated, but the company is preparing to bring this version to some of its devices, such as the latest revealed Vibe models, the K3 Note and the A7000+ family.

After the launch of Android 6.0 Marshmallow in October 2015, many manufacturers announced that they will start rolling out this update to their flagships and they’ve published the list of handsets that will be upgraded. But Lenovo is an OEM who preferred to stay quiet and hasn’t made any public announcement about its intensions to update its devices, but recently, the company has revealed a Marshmallow roadmap while having a presentation in China, and there are some photos on Weibo, which disclosed information about this update.

So, the owners of a Vibe X3, Vibe P1, K3 Note or part of the A7000+ series have an idea when their devices will receive the update. Well, according to the latest information, some of them will be updated within the first three months of 2016, while the rest of them will need to wait until July to be upgraded to Marshmallow.

From the list of Lenovo smartphone, the international version of the K3 Note will be updated in March, then it will be followed by the Vibe P and Vibe X3. Next, Lenovo will release the update for the Chinese version of the K3 Note, along with the international versions of the A7000, Vibe S1 and Vibe P1. The last devices which will be updated until July will be the international versions of the A7000 Plus and Vibe X3.

It’s interesting that Lenovo bought Motorola in 2014, but Motorola has been co-opted by Google in the same year and the company has released the Nexus 6 phablet with Android Lollipop, but since then, Google has privileged its devices, being among the first ones to get updates. And there are already a few Moto devices that are starting to receive the latest version, so it’s a bit unusual for Lenovo to be so secretive about the rollout schedule.
