Samsung will release its Galaxy S7 device sometime in Q1 2016. Today we’re going to talk about some features and specifications that this device will probably come with.
Galaxy S7: Two Variants?
Likewise the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, there will most likely be two Galaxy S7 devices: S7 and S7 Edge.
There are rumors which say that there will be an “Asian” version of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge that will use the Exynos 8890 processor, which is the first chip that Samsung has manufactured using its own core architecture. The same rumors say that the two Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices will be released to non-Asian markets featuring the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chip.
Galaxy S7 Edge To Feature A New Display Design
According to some reports, the Galaxy S7 Edge will have curved display edges, likewise the side edges that you’ve seen on the Galaxy S6 Edge. However, it seems that the edge will get “edgier”.
Galaxy S7: The Exynos 8890 Model Will Be Very Fast
According to some AnTuTu benchmark results, the Exynos 8890 powered Galaxy S7 (model number SM-9300), is dominating with a score of 103.690, which is way higher than the best Huawei Kirin 950, which has a score of around 79.000-94.000.
Improved Camera Hardware
Some rumors suggest that Samsung has been in talks with Sony to be able to use the 23MP IMX 300 camera (the camera that’s found on the Xperia Z5 device). Other rumors say that Samsung will use its own camera that will feature a 12MP sensor, but in order to improve the image quality they will use a very large sensor with a larger pixel size.
Some earlier rumors suggested that the upcoming Galaxy S7 will feature a 20MP camera (ISOCELL sensor), but according to some new info, shows a newly licensed Samsung BRITECELL brand, which is an improvement of the ISOCELL technology.
It Will Be Released At The End Of February 2016
Samsung will most likely release the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge sometime at the end of February 2016. Some past Galaxy S devices have been released ahead of MWC and since this event is held in February 22-25, 2016, we should expect a release date of these devices sometime in February 20-21, 2016.
MicroSD Might Come Back
There are rumors which say that Samsung wants to reintroduce the microSD on the upcoming Galaxy S7 devices. Samsung has lost a good amount of fans when they’ve removed the microSD card on the Galaxy S6 device and there are high chances that they will bring this slot back.
