Yesterday, Samsung’s Galaxy A9 has been spotted on company’s Iranian website, where it was put on sale at a price of over 500 dollars. The One A9, which is HTC’s first smartphone coming loaded with Android Marshmallow, while its price is $400. The Galaxy A9 and One A9 have in common a metal construction and nothing else.

Designs and Displays

The Galaxy A9 has a minimalist look, a metal unibody available in colors of Pearl White, Midnight Black and Champagne Gold, but the physical dimensions of the device haven’t been specified. We know only that the screen is a Super AMOLED and it measures 5.5-inch, but it supports a Full HD resolution which gives a maximum pixel density of 401, which is enough for a mid-range phablet.

The One A9 is considered a copy of Apple’s iPhone, featuring an aluminum back with two lines at the top and bottom (they’re hiding the radio antennas), but the iPhone 6S has its rear camera in the upper left corner, above the line at the top, while the One A9 has it in the center. Also, the device is smaller, featuring a 5-inch AMOLED screen which supports 1080 x 1920 pixels as well, but the screen is denser at 441, which means that the images are sharper, but as vibrant as on the Samsung phablet. The colors of the metal back are Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Golda and Deep Garnet, while the physical dimensions are 145.8 x 70.8 x 7.3 mm.

The Galaxy A9 is a bit more powerful, featuring a newer Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 620 octa core processor consisting of a quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 CPU and a quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, which are backed by the latest Adreno 510 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Also, the internal memory has a generous capacity of 32GB, but you can add a microSD card and get up to 128GB.

The One A9 has a reasonable performance with its Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 octa core processor formed from a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, but the graphics are Adreno 405 and the RAM capacity depends on the internal storage, which means that if you buy the variant with 2GB of RAM, you’ll get a smaller internal memory of 16GB, while the other model supports double storage and 3Gb of RAM. However, HTC has added a microSD card slot for both variants, so you can get up to 200GB.

Cameras and Batteries

The Galaxy A9 has a main camera with a higher resolution of 16MP, but there aren’t too many features contributing to the increase of the image quality, so the device is offering only autofocus, LED flash, HDR and Full HD video capture. As for the front camera, its resolution is 5MP and with it you’ll take great selfies. The One A9 sports a 13MP back camera with optical image stabilization, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and Full HD video capture, while the front camera is the famous 4MP Ultrapixel with a 1/3′ sensor size and 2µm pixel size, but it supports also HDR.

Samsung hasn’t given any details about the battery capacity of the Galaxy A9, but we’ll tell you that the One A9 is powered by a 2150 mAh battery which provides 16 hours of talk time.
