This is the first update that the Android Marshmallow has received and according to some comments that we’ve spotted on the XDA Developer Forum, only a few models have received it until now, such as: Android One, General Mobile 4G, Cherry Mobile One and more.
Until now, Google hasn’t confirmed any of these, so there is no news regarding the improvements and bug fixes that the new Android M update comes with.
According to GSMArena, this update also packs Google’s December security patch for Android devices and it has the build number MMB29K. Currently the nexus devices are still running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it is not sure if they will get the 6.0.1 update soon.
We remind you that Google has recently revealed that they are planning to release monthly security patches for all Android devices. We’re not sure why the Android One device was one of the first devices that have been patched. Google will most likely roll out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to more devices before the end of the year.
There are rumors which say that after the Android 6.0.1 update, Google will release a major update that will come as Android 6.1 Marshmallo, unfortunately, this update will most likely be released sometime in Q1 2016.
It seems that Google is somehow rushing with updates right now, which means that our Android devices will be more secure in the future. Google understood that the mobile devices need to be frequently updated in order to fix all the new exploits that the hackers take advantage of.
Do you think that Android 6.1 Marshmallow update will be released in Q1 2016 or it will take longer until this major update will get to some Android mobile devices?
