We present you two smartphones which have been released this spring, but in India, the manufacturer has announced that the LG Spirit LTE and LG G4 Stylus 4G will come with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) support. Anyway, we’ll compare the initial models and you’ll decide which one you should buy.
Designs and Displays
Both devices have an identical look, featuring a rectangular body with a curved back made of plastic, but which has a metal finish and physical buttons placed below the camera. While the “Spirit” comes in three variants of colors: Titan, Gold and White, the G4 Stylus is available in Metallic Silver and Floral White and, as its name suggests, it features a stylus with which you can take notes directly on the larger screen, because this model is a phablet. Its dimensions are 154.3×79.2×9.6mm, it weights 163grams and the screen measures 5.7-inch, being an IPS LCD supporting a not so high resolution of 720x1280pixels at 258ppi, which means that it’s not so sharp.
The LG Spirit has a screen which is 1-inch smaller, but it offers a higher pixel density of 312ppi, resulting from the same resolution. Also, the device is thicker at 10mm and it weights 12.4grams.
Both devices are available in two variants of hardware configurations, but have in common a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor which is backed by Adreno 306 graphics and 1GB of RAM. However, the Spirit has an alternative variant of chipset, a Mediatek MT6582 which is powered by a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processor which is paired with a Mali-400MP2 GPU. The Stylus phablet has another variant with an Octa-core 1.4 GHz processor for the 3G model and if the device is bought from T-Mobile, it supports 2GB of RAM and an internal memory of 16GB. But, both the G4 Stylus and LG Spirit offer a standard internal memory of 8GB, which is expandable up to 128GB/32GB respectively.
Cameras and batteries
One of the variants of the Spirit has a main camera of 8MP with LED flash and a front camera of 1MP, while the other variant has a weaker rear camera of 5MP and the same front camera.
The G4 Stylus has a front camera of 5MP on both models, but while one variant uses a 13MP rear camera with OIS, dual-LED flash and laser autofocus, the other variant supports an 8MP shooter which lacks OIS and has LED flash.
The Spirit is powered by a 2100mAh battery and it has an average lifespan, just like G4 Stylus’ 3000mAh cell.
