The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update is finally rolling out to the HTC One M8 (Google Play Edition), this news was confirmed by Mo Versi, HTC’s Vice President, on his twitter account.
However, it seems that this is not the only HTC One device that will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Apparently, the HTC One M9 will be another device that will be updated to the Android Marshmallow in the upcoming days.
We remind you that the HTC One M8 (Google Play Edition) is no longer supported by HTC. With other words, this was a real surprise by the owners of this device as they’ve never expected that the latest Android OS update will be released for their devices.
According to Tech Times, the HTC One M8 (Google Play Edition), doesn’t work on the HTC UI Sense, so it will come only with the Android-based updates.
HTC One M9 To Receive The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update
On the other hand, the HTC One M9 supports the HTC Sense UI, which will also be updated along with the Android M update. According to BGR, Android M will also fix the Stagefright 2.0 vulnerability along with other issues such as touch lag and overheating.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will have around 450MB, so make sure that you have enough space on your device before thinking of updating your device.
HTC One A9 And Android 6.0 Marshmallow
It is good to know that HTC has released a new device this fall that was released with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box (with HTC Sense). At the same time, HTC has promised that they will release the Android updates within 15 days after Google releases it for its Nexus smartphones and tablets.
We’re not sure when the HTC One M9 will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update but we think that this will happen before the end of 2015.
