It seems that Motorola has officially released the latest Android OS version (6.0 Marshmallow) to some of the Moto X devices. According to a Google post by David Schuster (Senior Director, SW Product Management, Motorola Mobility), the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update has been released for the Moto X Style (3rd generation) in India and Brazil. At the same time, Schuster said that the Moto X (2nd generation) is also receiving the update, but only in Brazil.
How To Install The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update On Moto X Series
First of all, we remind you that you should make sure that your device has at least 50% battery left so that it will not shut down during the installation process, as it may harm your device. At the same time, make sure that you connect to a Wi-Fi network before you start the downloading process, to not waste any mobile data.
Once the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update is available for your Moto X device, you will receive a notification saying this. You will need to select “Yes, I’m in” and the downloading process of the latest Android OS will start. Once the software is downloaded, you will have to choose “Install now” and when the installation process has been completed, your device will automatically restart.
HINT: Keep in mind that it might take longer for the device to boot into the newly installed OS, so just be patient.
We remind you that the OTA update is released in phases, which means that depending on the carrier your device is connected to and the area where you live, you will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow sooner or later.
You can also manually check if there is an OTA update available for your Moto X device by heading to the device’s Settings->About Phone->System Updates.
