The beginning of the week brings news of a new top smartphone from HTC. It is a device called HTC One X9 that comes with more powerful specifications than any other phone of the company, who probably will start a new series. It is unclear whether the One M product line will continue after the release of X9 or the date we see this device, but the components suggest a launch in 2016.
This information came shortly after the debut of HTC One A9, criticized because of the familiar design and technical specifications. Probably none of these device problems were not as highlighted by the users if HTC will have placed it on the market at a smaller price, well aligned to its performance. Unfortunately, we are dealing with a medium device but a price compared to high-end smartphones.
HTC One X9 will probably solve this problem, it provides a new and original design, together with top components. It is a device built around a display of 5″ resolution QHD (2560x1440pixels) Snapdragon 820 or MediaTek Helio X20 (in some markets) processors, 4 GB RAM, 23 and 4 megapixel (Ultrapixel front camera) and options for 64 or 128 GB internal storage. Also, a 3500 mAh battery inaccessible to users should feed all these components.
The new smartphone from HTC looks to integrate the Boom Sound audio system again, the speakers above and below the display (compatible with Dolby Audio) and the virtual buttons on Android are replaced with dedicated capacitive buttons.
The fact that the new HTC One X9 is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset suggests that we will not see the device until next year, probably at CES or Mobile World Congress. Available information is currently unproven and may not be 100% accurate, we will certainly learn more about One X9 closer to launch.
The above image, which seems to illustrate the new HTC One X9 in a promotional material comes from China, but doesn’t provide much detail about the aesthetic peculiarities of the new smartphone.
