The unlocked Nexus 6 phablet is sold by Amazon at these prices: $349 for the 32GB version and $399 for the 64GB version. The good news is that device is upgradable to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, but the users won’t benefit from the fingerprint support which was added to this update, since it doesn’t have a fingerprint reader.
This is a good deal if you can’t afford to buy the new Nexus 6P whose price starts at $499. The phablet is sold out on Google’s online store in the US and it’s not known when the device will be available again for purchase. Huawei is the company that created it and its design was inspired from the Ascend P8, which has a metal body with a black horizontal band running across its top side, but the Nexus 6P has a fingerprint scanner below this band.
As for the Nexus 6, this phablet is much larger than its successor, featuring an enormous 5.96-inch AMOLED with a quad-HD resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, which results in a pixel density of 493ppi. Its processor is a 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (the fastest 32bit processor) which is backed by Adreno 420 graphics and 3GB of RAM, and normally, the device comes with 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, but now it can e upgraded to 6.0 Marshmallow.
The front camera isn’t that great, supporting a resolution of 2MP, but the one on the back does a great job outdoors, in direct sunlight, since it has a Sony IMX214 image sensor with a resolution of 16MP and it has an aperture of F2.0. Other features include OIS, autofocus, dual-LED flash and 2160p video capture @30fps.
The battery is non-removable and its capacity of 3220mAh is offering up to 24 hours of talk time. Also, it supports Qi wireless charging support. Regarding the design, it’s very similar to that of the Moto X 2014, featuring a plastic curved back with a matte effect and its sides are protected with a metal frame.
