Cobalt is a game developed by Oxeye Game Studio in collaboration with Fatshark. This game is published by Minecraft’s developer, Mojang. Unfortunately for the players who have been expecting the Cobalt game to be released at the end of this month, on October 30, 2015, we have some bad news.
Mojang has announced that the Cobalt game is being delayed until February 2015. The reason for this delay is related to the unexpected bugs that the developers have found in the game. Mojang also released a video that clearly shows that and you can watch it below:
Mojang said that they (Mojang, Oxeye Game Studio and Fatshark) have been working on this game for quite some time and currently, even if the game is ready to be released, they won’t do this because the current build is “bugger” than they’re comfortable with. The developing team has added that they want every part of the Cobalt game to be fully functional such as the online multiplayer, local, challenges, campaigns etc.
It seems that Mojang, Oxeye Game Studio and Fatshark will keep working on this game for the next 4 months until the game will finally be ready to get released for the players. The developing company also added that it is quite complicated to release games on the console platform because there many things which need to be finalized until a product is finally launched for the public (such as certifications).
So, if everything goes well as expected, the Cobalt game will be released in February 2016 for Windows OS, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Linux and OS X.
What are your thoughts about the upcoming Cobalt game? Will you play it on your computer or on your console? Do you think that Cobalt’s release date will be delayed once again?
