Google Play Services version 8.3 has been released and it should be already installed on your Android device. It seems that the new Google Play Services version comes with new features. As expected, most of these new features are usually not noticed by the regular users, but we’re going to talk about them in this article.
According to Android Police, the Google Play Services version 8.3 comes with some changes to the Smart Lock and Nearby. It seems that the new version of the Google Play Services brings Google Accounts, Nearby and Smart Lock together.
Nobody knows yet why Google did this, but there are rumors which say that the company is planning to allow the users to backup the Smart Lock settings on their Google account, but those are just speculations for now and they should be taken with a bit of salt.
There are some strings involving the profile merging, which will probably allow users to merge profiles together. Even if this doesn’t seem to bring too much stuff, we will see what Google wants to do with this.
As you already know, some Google applications such as “Play Music” allow you to send feedback to the developers so they can improve the applications. It seems that the new Google Play Services version 8.3 will allow you to send additional screenshots along with the feedback to help the developers even more. This way, the developers will see what you are talking about and figure out how to fix the issue faster. For example, if you’re talking about a bug, you send a feedback and you include a screenshot, they will be able to replicate the bug and resolve it way faster.
Google Play Services version 8.3 is currently rolling out to the Android devices. If you didn’t receive the update yet, we suggest you to wait a few days, as the update is released in phases.
