A new stable version of WhatsApp has been released for the Android smartphones. The new WhatsApp version is 2.12.317 and the developers released it a few hours ago. Keep in mind that this new version doesn’t bring the Google Drive feature and it is not available for all devices.

However, the developers are continuously working on the WhatsApp application in order to bring this function along with others. If you’ve been following us in the past week, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve told you about 4-5 new WhatsApp BETA versions. The developers were probably optimizing the application, so that they can finally release a new WhatsApp STABLE version to the Google Play Store.

The new WhatsApp 2.12.317 STABLE APK is only 15KB larger than the previous version, but it doesn’t come with any new features. At the same time, 33 files have been modified and 9 of them were related to the Google Drive settings and statistics, which clearly shows that the developers are getting closer and closer to releasing this new feature to the application.

We’ve also noticed a few files modified that are related to recent locations in chat groups, widgets, contact information and more. The developers have also improved the application stability and have fixed the bugs that have been found by them or reported by the users.
