BlissPop is a popular mobile custom firmware developer out there. The developer has released a custom ROM based on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Samsung’s 2013 phablet, the Galaxy Note 3 LTE model.
The size of the custom ROM is 277MB and it comes with many new personalization options, tweaks and it also extended the battery life.
How To Install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM By BlissPop on your Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Keep in mind that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM is working only on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) LTE model. If you try to install it on other devices, it will probably not work. To check your device model, go to Settings->About Phone and check the model number, at the same time, you must make sure that the device is rooted or you will not be able to install the custom ROM.
Since the installation of the custom ROM will clear the memory of your device, you will need to backup all your data by installing Clockworkd MOD (CWM) Recovery on your device.
Make sure that the USB drivers are installed on your computer or else the Galaxy Note 3 will not be recognized once you connect the mobile device to your PC using the USB cable.
At the same time, make sure that the device has at least 70-80% battery left, so that it will not shutdown during the installation of the custom ROM.
CAUTION: Keep in mind that by installing the custom ROM on your device, you will lose the warranty, but you can “restore” the warranty by just flashing the device with the stock-ROM that it came with.
So if you own the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that has the build number SM-N9005, you can start downloading the BlissPop Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM and Google Apps zip files to your computer, once these files have been downloaded, you can connect the Galaxy Note 3 LTE device to your computer by using an USB cable.
Once the mobile device has been connected to your computer, copy the two .zip files that you’ve downloaded to the phone’s SD card memory, after that, turn off the Galaxy Note 3 and enter the Recovery Mode by pressing and holding the Home+Power+Volume up buttons.
Once you enter the recovery mode you will need to wipe the device’s memory by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” option, at the same time, you will need to clear the cache memory by selecting “wipe cache partition”.
After that, just go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card” and choose the BlissPop Android Lollipop custom ROM zip file. Once the installation is complete, do the same with the Google Apps zip file and reboot the device by selecting “Reboot system now” that’s located in the main recovery menu.
HINT: Keep in mind that it will take a while for the device to boot for the first time to the newly installed custom ROM.
You can also check the Android OS that your Galaxy Note 3 runs on by going to Settings->About Phone, you should see that the device now runs on BlissPop Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM.
