Every time is very hard to pick a favorite when comparing two devices with near identical specifications and prices. The small differences are those that matter a lot, because they are helping us to reach a conclusion and come with a winner.
Designs, Dimensions and Displays
The Lenovo K3 Note has a plastic matte back which can be removed, offering access to the battery and there are three variants of colors: Onyx Black, Pearl White and Laser Yellow, but it looks rather cheap. Its advantage is the ceramic piece vibration speaker, which has a better quality, and the device is also slimmer at 8mm, while it has a height of 152.6mm and a weight of 150 grams. The screen is an IPS measuring 5.5-inch and it supports a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 401 ppi, which is pretty sharp and has a satisfactory color reproduction, offering natural tones. Also, the viewing angles are great and the content is visible in direct sunlight.
The Meizu m1 note is available in five colors: White, Blue, Yellow, Green and Pink and it has a unibody design, being made of plastic with glossy effect. The device has curved edges and a circular home button like Apple’s iPhones. It has a thickness of 8.9mm, it’s 150.7mm tall and it weights 145 grams, while the screen is IGZO with the same size and resolution, but it gives a slightly higher pixel density of 403ppi.
You’ll find the same hardware configuration on both phones, since both manufacturers opted for an octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 processor which is based on a Mediatek MT6752 SoC and it’s coupled with Mali-T760MP2 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
But that’s not all. While the performance is identical and both devices have an internal memory of 16GB, the Meizu m1 note doesn’t support a microSD card slot, but it has another variant of storage with a capacity of 32GB. On the other hand, the Lenovo K3 Note allows you to double its internal memory.
Cameras and Batteries
We can’t tell you for sure which phone takes better quality photos, because their resolutions are identical and they even share the same features. So, our models sport a rear camera of 13MP with autofocus, dual-LED flash and HDR, while the front camera supports 5MP.
Regarding the batteries, you’ll be happy to know that the Lenovo K3 Note has a replaceable battery, but its capacity is lower at 3000 mAh. Even so, it manages to last 36 hours when talking over 3G, while the Meizu m1 note with its 3140 mAh battery, lasts up to 40 hours, on paper.
You’ll find the Lenovo K3 Note at a price of 155 dollars, while the Meizu m1 note costs around 125 dollars in India, but in other parts of the world, it can cost up to 160 dollars.
