The developers of WhatsApp have released a new WhatsApp version for the Nokia Asha smartphones and devices that run on Symbian 40, such as the Nokia C3. This time, the developers have released the WhatsApp version 2.13.9, which comes with no apparent changes or new features. With other words, the developers have most likely worked on fixing bugs and improving the stability of the application.
What’s interesting is that the .jar (installation) file has exactly the same size as the previous version, which is 1917KB. Now, the question is: did the developers really work on something or they’ve just changed the name of the .jar file?
WhatsApp 2.13.9: How To Install On Your Nokia Asha Smartphone
First of all, the WhatsApp 2.13.9 is current in BETA phase, which means that you will need to manually download the .jar file and install it on your smartphone. The safest place from where you can download the .jar is the official WhatsApp website (whatsapp.com/s40).
Keep in mind that you will need to uninstall the current WhatsApp version from your Nokia S40 device before you install this version. Also, if you notice any changes on this latest WhatsApp BETA version for your Nokia Asha smartphone, please leave a comment below.
WhatsApp for Nokia Asha
The WhatsApp application for the Nokia Asha devices allows you to keep in touch with your friends and family (as long as they use the WhatsApp application on their smartphones and they’re connected to the internet). You can send and receive messages, photos, audio files and share your location. Unfortunately, the WhatsApp Voice Calling feature is not available for these types of devices and it’s not sure if it will ever be. This feature is currently available only for smartphones that run on Android, iOS, BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone.
