Google decided to expose the rollout of its newest operating system upgrade, moniker Android Marshmallow or Android M for short for its Nexus line during the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X event.
Soon after this announcement was made, HTC also decided to list its own line of devices that will embrace the Android M rollout. So, here they are: HTC One M9 and One M9+, M8, E9, and E9+, ME, E8, M8 EYE, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816.
So, as you might be able to tell by this listing, all of HTC’s devices, new ones and older ones are certified to receive the Android M rollout. However, the devices that were launched in 2014 and 2015 are expected to receive the Android M a lot sooner than the rest.
HTC is planning to implement this rollout by the time the year ends. Those who posses a HTC Desire 820 that might still be curious to know when Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade will reach their devices, we inform you that HTC has decided to omit the latter and go straight for Android M instead.
However, for those who own the HTC One M7, don’t hold your breath for the Android M upgrade because this will never reach this particular HTC handset. So, why not choose a new one instead so that you can enjoy Google’s upgrade. Apparently, HTC is planning on unveiling a new gizmo that will have the Android M on board at the Be Brilliant event that is scheduled for the 20th of October. The new upgrade will pack a lot of new enhancements for your phone, these include an improved battery life duration which can be implemented with the help of the Doze functionality as well as support for Android Pay and a lot more.
