Microsoft’s latest Lumia phones were well-received when they were unveiled a few days ago, and they’re already compared to some of the most appreciated high-end smartphones and two of them are the iPhone 6S and Samsung’s Galaxy S6

The Lumia 950 and 950 XL have a matte plastic back and the volume rocker buttons, the power and the dedicated camera buttons sit on the right side. The smaller Lumia weights 150 grams and has a thickness of 8.2mm, while the phablet version weights 15 grams more, but it’s slimmer at 8.1mm. They have an AMOLED screen with a QHD resolution, but the smaller phone has a diagonal of 5.2-inch and supports a pixel density of 564ppi, while the phablet is much larger, featuring a 5.7-inch screen with a pixel density of 518ppi. On the bottom of these devices, you’ll find the USB Type-C port which is used both for quick charging and connectivity.
The iPhone 6S has an aluminum unibody design with a thickness of 7.1mm and it has a new color option – Rose Gold, while the screen measures 4.7-inch, and it’s a LED-backlit IPS LCD which supports the new 3D Touch technology, while the resolution is 750×1334 pixels at 326ppi.
The Lumia 950 has the hexa core Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 processor which is backed by Adreno 418 graphics and 3GB of RAM, while the Lumia 950 XL received the newer octa core Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 (version 2.1) with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 430 graphics.
The iPhone 6S came with the new Apple A9 dual-core 1.84GHz processor, which is coupled with PowerVR GT7600 graphics and 2GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S6 has the 14nm Exynos 7420 octa core processor, which obtained better results than the first gen Snapdragon 810. This phone has Mali-T760MP8 graphics and 3GB of RAM.
The two Lumia devices has a 20MP rear camera with triple-LED RGB flash, OIS, Carl Zeiss optics, 1/2.4” sensor size, 1.12µm pixel size and which uses PureView technology and it’s able to shoot 4K videos, while the front camera is 5MP.
Apple improved both of the cameras of the iPhone 6S, increasing the resolution from 8MP to 12MP and from 1.2Mp to 5MP, and now, it can record 4K videos.
The Galaxy S6 has a 16MP main camera with OIS, auto HDR, LED flash and 4K video capture, and the front camera has been upgraded to 5MP, and it takes selfies with auto HDR.
Between the four devices, the iPhone 6S has the smallest battery, which has a capacity of 1715 mAh (6.9 Wh), being followed by the Galaxy S6, with a 2550mAh cell, while the Lumia 950 has a 3000mAh unit and the XL version is the winner of the competition with its 3340mAh battery. However, Microsoft added the quick charging option which allows the users to charge their phones from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
