Those of you owning an Honor 6 gizmo will be happy to hear that the latter device will receive the Android upgrade, but that’s not all as it will also receive a brand new EMUI 3.1 launcher according to GSM Arena’s report.

This update will be sent through OTA and India is among the first countries to get their hands on it, the Huawei 4X and 4C devices have already received the Android upgrade.

Users can find the ROM upgraded and ready to be downloaded on Huawei’s official website. Because the file will take up some space, make sure you have at least 3GB of space available when downloading the ROM. It is advisable to install the upgrade by hand. And even if there isn’t a current change log available online, there are several improved features that you will definitely grow fond of.

First of all, you can say goodbye to all Stagefright glitches and errors because the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will get rid of them once and for all. Users will also see the LinkedIn app as well as the Calendar application. You will also notice brand new icons that are available for the Settings menu as soon as you submit your device to the upgrade. As for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the two elements will be spotted in the notifications menu. So keep your eyes open for that neat change.

When you are ready to set up the upgrade, just hit the Install now prompt. Once the process has began, just stick to the guide/instructions that will show up on the screen of your device. If you wish to verify and see if there are any upgrades available, go to Settings, then About Phone, look for System update and then Check for updates. Before performing this upgrade make sure your device if fully charged.
