LG has another family of phones, the “V” line which made its debut with the V10 model, which is rather similar to the Galaxy S6 Active because of its rugged body, it has two new features, such as a dual front camera and two screens. Its biggest rivals are the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and iPhone 6S Plus and in this article we’ll compare the specs of all three phones.

Apple hasn’t changed its style much and it keeps using aluminum to build the exterior of its iPhones. The new pair of iPhones (S) looks identical to the previous models, featuring those strips on their backs, but their bodies are a bit thicker, because Apple used the more durable 7000 series aluminum, which prevents the phones from bending. Both iPhones have a new color option, Rose Gold, and the phablet measures 158.2×77.9×7.3 mm and it weights 192 grams (with 20 grams more that its predecessor).

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is the phablet version of the S6 Edge, which has a curved edge screen, while the back has the usual glass layer with four variants of colors: Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Silver Titan and White Pearl. Samsung covered the sides with a thin metal frame, which makes the device look very sleek. As for the dimensions, they are 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9 mm, resulting in a total weight of 153 grams.

The LG V10 is an improved version of the LG G4, but instead of leather/ceramic, it uses silicone skin back with an interesting texture, and there’s a stainless steel frame which covers the sides. The device is resistant to shocks, because it has a sturdy construction, but its design isn’t for everybody. LG placed the physical buttons on the back, below the camera, but inside the power button was integrated a fingerprint scanner. The V10 weights 192 grams and its dimensions are 159.6 x 79.3 x 8.6 mm.

Also, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and iPhone 6S Plus have fingerprint readers, but they’re hidden inside the home button, which is placed below the screen.

The iPhone 6S Plus has a smaller display (LED-backlit IPS LCD) with a diagonal of 5.5-inch, which supports a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 401 ppi and Apple integrated the new 3D Touch technology, which detects varying levels of pressure.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a larger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a QHD resolution and a pixel density of 518ppi.

The main screen of the V10 has also 5.7-inch, but it’s an IPS LCD with a QHD resolution, which has a slightly lower pixel density of 515ppi. The secondary screen is placed above the large one, having a separate backlight which powers it. When the main screen is turned off, the narrow screen at the top shows the battery status, alerts, the date etc, while when the main screen is awake, the second screen shows app shortcuts, settings for the camera and other quick-launch tools.

The iPhone 6S Plus came with better cameras, which have higher resolutions of 12MP and 5MP and new features such as simultaneous 4K video and 8MP image recording. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a similar front camera, but the rear camera supports a higher resolution of 16MP and it also records 4K videos, while the LG V10 has two front cameras of 5MP which combine two images in order to make a single one in order to produce a wide-angle selfie. The rear camera supports also 16MP and has laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, LED flash, 1/2.6” sensor size and the same 4K video recording capabilities.
