The first Chromecast dongle came in 2013 at a price of $35 and until today, 20 million units have been sold. The successor was eagerly awaited and it was finally unveiled at Google’s annual I/O conference. If you’re intending to buy the new Chromecast 2, first you’d better take a look at its specs.

This device measured 72 x 35 x 12 mm and weighted 34 grams. It looked like a memory stick with a big bulge at its base and inside, it had a Marvell 88DE3005 (Armada 1500-mini) system on a chip, which supported 512MB of Micron DDR3L RAM, while the internal memory had a capacity of 2GB. Chromecast – second generation
The first model was available in black color, but the successor is more colorful, bringing two new shades like lemonade and coral, and it plugs into an HDMI port more easily. The videos are streamed with less buffering at a higher resolution and at a faster rate, thanks to the redesigned antenna, and the streamer established a faster connection with the TV, because there is a new feature called Fast Play, which loads tv episodes once the app is turned on.
