With the launch of the Lumia series in line, Microsoft is ready to make a comeback to the tech industry. And what a comeback it will be, because the company is relying on Windows 10 to make this happen as well as a few other major launches.

Lumia 950 & Lumia 950 XL roll out

There has been a leaked image of what might be a test of the Lumia 950 device. At the beginning, both of these devices had the 940 included in the name, but Microsoft changed it to 950. So, now these are called Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL (the XL in the latter’s name hints at a phablet size device). Down below, you have the leaked specs:

According to Phone Arena: “The Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is expected to feature a 5.7-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside, with 32GB of expandable storage. A 20MP PureView camera will be on the back with a 5MP front-facing camera handling selfies. An iris scanner is on board, along with a USB Type-C port, and a native pen”, concludes the news site.

Both of these Lumia gizmos will have 3GB of RAM, and they will also rock the USB Type-C port and dual-SIM support. Also based on various online reports and innuendos, we have found out that the Lumia 950 has the model number RM-1116. A Latin American Facebook fan page (for Nokia handsets) has unveiled a series of new leaked images regarding these upcoming Lumia gizmos. So, now it is confirmed that Lumia 950 will sport a 5.2-inch display while the XL variant will have a 5.7-inch display. Both will have QHD resolutions, Snapdragon 810 processors and a 20MP Pureview camera, the secondary snapper being a 5MP one. As far as color, the Lumia 950 XL might come out in a blue color while the smaller version will be found in a black shade.

Costs and Launch date

Microsoft is planning on pulling an Apple iPhone 6S scheme as far as the costs for the Lumia devices. So, expect a package consisting of €200 worth of accessories. These accessories might include a Continuum dock, NFC tags and even Bluetooth speakers. The estimated costs for the Lumia 950 XL will be €749 (£541), whereas the Lumia 950 might retail for €659 (£476).

As far as the launch date, October 6 is the big day. On the same date, other Windows 10 gizmos will roll out, we are talking about the Surface Pro 4 device. Also, expect the launch of the miniature Xbox One and the Band 2.
