Unlike the Google Nexus devices, other manufacturers that own devices that run on Android, such as HTC, have been struggling to update their devices to the latest Android OS in a short time after its official release date.
When a new Android OS is released, the first devices that receive it are the Nexus ones. It seems that the owners of HTC devices have criticized the manufacturing company because they are delaying the updates for their handsets. Because of this, HTC has a plan regarding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. According to a new leak, HTC already has a list of smartphones that will get updated to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
One of the most credible tipsters out there that goes by the name of LlabTooFer, listed a few HTC devices that will get updated to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is good to know that this update will also come with HTC’s Sense 7 user interface.
According to the leak, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for the HTC One M9, HTC One M9+ and HTC One M8. Unfortunately, the HTC One M7 will most likely not receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow very soon.
Apart from those devices we’ve mentioned above, there are others that will receive it, such as the Desire series such as 816, 820, 826 and Eye. Also, a few siblings of the HTC One M* will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow such as the M8s and M8 Eye, but also the E8, E9 and E9+.
LlabTooFer also noted that the devices that come with limited internal storage capacity will not receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. For example, even if the HTC Desire 816 is on the list, he’s not so sure that this headset will receive the update. Same goes for the HTC Desire 820, as this device is currently waiting for the Android Lollipop update. However, it was also spotted on the list of the devices that are going to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so we’re not sure yet what to believe.
