This year, Google will bring us two smartphones. LG built the successor of the Nexus 5 2013, while Huawei was in charge to create the successor of the Motorola Nexus 6, and both devices will be unveiled on September 29, during an event hold in San Francisco. Blackberry hasn’t released any important phone in 2015, but in November, the Canadian company will launch the Blackberry Venice. This device was confirmed a few days ago, but leaked images of it have surfaced weeks ago.

Designs and Displays

The Nexus 5X will have a plastic body with a protruded rear camera lens and according to rumors, the bulge will increase the thickness of the device by 1.8mm, from 8mm. Also, the height is speculated to be 146.9mm and the width will be around 73mm, resulting in a total weight of 177 grams. Below the camera has been placed a fingerprint scanner which will support the new Android Pay mobile system. The screen will measure 5.2-inch (IPS LCD), but don’t get excited about its resolution, because it will be Full HD.

The BlackBerry Venice, which will carry the model number STV100-6 will have a curved 5.4-inch QHD display and a slider Qwerty keyboard with three rows of keys. The leaked images showed a front facing speaker grill at the bottom and the back seems to be made of plastic with a fine texture.

Both phones will be powered by a 1.8 GHz Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, which will be backed by 3GB of RAM, although other rumors say that the new Nexus 5 will support only 2GB of RAM. It is said that the internal memory of the Nexus 5X will be available in two variants of 16 and 32GB, but LG hasn’t included a microSD card slot. Currently, we don’t have any information regarding the supported storage from the BlackBerry Venice.

Cameras and Batteries

While the Nexus 5X is expected to sport a 12.3MP back camera, a 5MP front camera and a battery of 2700mAh, the BlackBerry Venice is rumored to come with an 18MP main camera and a 3000mAh battery.
