According to the latest rumors, the Moto G series, including the Moto G, G2 and G3 are already ready to receive the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. If rumors prove to be right, the Moto G3 will receive the update before the end of 2015. However, Motorola hasn’t confirmed which one of these three devices will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update first.
In concordance with Android Origin, the Moto G2 device will most likely get the update sometime in January-February 2016, while the Moto G will probably get it in late February 2016. However, before these three devices will get updated to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, they will firstly get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update.
Actually, there are rumors which say that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will be released for the Moto G series on September 29, 2015, when the big search engine company is expected to finally release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the two new Nexus devices (Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P).
With other words, the Moto G, G2 and G3 owners will be able to “taste” the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for a few weeks after their devices will be finally updated to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
We remind you that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for the Moto X Style (also known as Moto X Pure) followed by Moto X 2014, Moto Droid Turbo and Moto G3, sometime before the end of 2016.
In concordance with BGR, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with many new changes and improvements such as: API level 23, improved enumeration support, a rotatable home screen and updated options for emergency calls.
Do you own a Moto G, G2 or G3? When do you think that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update will be released for your device?
