Sony Xperia M2 series is currently running on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS and the users are facing a lot of issues mostly because they are using an old operating system. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes with many new improvements and functionalities which will surely improve the overall performance of the devices that are getting it.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop also comes with the LinkedIn App integrated into the Calendar and Contacts applications. You will also be able to access the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth via the shortcut menu.

If you’ve read about the StageFright vulnerability, then you should know that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is fixing it, so you will not have to worry about any future MMS messages that you will receive. We remind you that the StageFright vulnerability allowed hackers to send a normal MMS video to their victims, and if they’ve opened it, the hackers gained full access of their devices. With other words, they could steal personal data such as videos, photos, contacts etc.

The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also expected to be released for the Xperia Z2, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual and Xperia Z4.

You can also check if there is an update available for your Android device by going to Settings->About Phone->System Update->Check for updates. If there is an update available for your device, we suggest you to download it only when you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, to not waste the mobile data. Also, when you’re about to install the update, make sure that your device has at least 70% of battery left, so that it will not shut down during the installation process.
