Just a few more days and counting until the big unveiling of Google’s newest operating system, moniker Android 6.0 Marshmallow. September 29 is the date on everyone’s lips since on the same day the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P will also see the light of day.
Also there are many Android manufactures out there, Samsung being one of them that are really eager to witness the OS rollout. This is because they all wish to start scheduling the updates for the handsets.
A Korean source was quoted by SamMobile and claimed that apparently Samsung is planning a major update for its newest flagships. These are:
- Galaxy S6
- Galaxy S6 Edge
- Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.
If you don’t know or if it slipped your mind, the latter Samsung devices are currently operating on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. So, the fact that the Android 6.0 M update will be runner up is pretty much a done deal.
Besides all of these new Samsung releases, the Galaxy Note 4 will also receive the Android M update in the future, let’s just hope it will be in the near one. However, whether or not the Galaxy Note 4 will receive the update at the same time the Galaxy S flagships will, this remains to be seen.
The Android M developer preview first came out in May. And because it rolled to with a dark user interface theme, this led many to believe that Google finally adopted the dark theme for the Android platform. But Phone Arena informs us that the dark theme will not come out with the Android 6.0 M update. The latter theme was also ousted from the 2nd and 3rd developer previews. Even though developers were hoping for Google to stick with the theme, the search titan has no such plans to their disappointment.
