September 29 is approaching and we’ll finally see the two new Nexuses released. We’ve heard plenty of rumors about their specs, but Google managed to be sufficiently secretive and only a few weeks ago we’ve seen the first leaked image of the Nexus 5 (2015) aka Nexus 5X.
So, the design of the Nexus 5 2015, which has been built by LG, is very simple. We’ve seen an image of a white device made by plastic, which has a metal frame, a rear camera with a bulge and a fingerprint scanner below it. Meanwhile, new leaked pictures have surfaced, showing a black and mint green back, while the rumored dimensions are 146.9 x 72.9 x 8mm (9.8mm with the protruding camera). On the front side we’ll see two front-facing speakers and at the bottom will be placed a USB Type-C.
A Chinese micro blogging website called Weibo claims that the size of Nexus 5X’s screen will be 5.2-inch and will have a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, with 565 ppi, but according to a leaked score card from AnTuTu, the phone will actually support a Full HD resolution with 423ppi. If LG will opt for a lower resolution, this will help the battery to last longer. However, there will be a larger Nexus device, which has been built by Huawei, and its screen will support QHD resolution, but it won’t affect the battery life, because it will have a capacity of 3500mAh.
The early rumors haven’t changed their position yet, continuing to claim that the processor will be a Snapdragon 808 hexa core which will be backed by Adreno 418 graphics and 3GB of RAM and that the internal memory will be available in variants of 16 and 32GB. But a new leaked benchmark score from AnTuTu contradicts these rumors, revealing that LG will use a more powerful processor and the rumors say that this will be the next chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820. But this is unlikely to happen, because this chip is expected to be released at the beginning of 2016.
Camera and Battery
The Nexus 5X will have a 13MP main camera built by Sony, which will support dual LED flash, laser autofocus and OIS. We don’t have any accurate information regarding the front camera, but it will probably have a resolution of 5MP. As for the battery, it will have a capacity of 2700mAh.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The next Nexuses will come loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which will bring Android Pay and USB Type-C support.
