To upgrade or not to upgrade? This is the question. Attention all Windows 7/Windows 8.1 users: look for the Windows symbol (see taskbar) which will point out the fact that Windows 10 is standing by. Even if the latter update comes with a bunch of new additions, some of you might still be wondering the following: should I upgrade or not?
Besides the enhanced security features, Windows 10 will also boost up the performance levels on various systems. If you’re switching from Windows 7 to Windows 10, you’ll be pleased to know that the battery life will be like no other.
As for the gamers, they will have the same experience they did on the previous Windows 7 and 8.1. However, because the DirectX 12 support was included, all of your new games will have an enhanced performance. And the best part is that you can run games from your Xbox to your computer.
There are other great enhancements when it comes to the Windows 10 upgrade. You will get to enjoy a bunch of new tools including the Task Manager as well as File Explorer plus the resets tools that will help you keep your computer on track. You will also be able to use the picture passcode element and if you have a notebook coupled with Intel RealSense camera, Windows 10 will automatically identify your face features and know it is you.
Users will also enjoy Passport, a functionality which will basically transfer your details via a safe logon to websites and help you navigate a lot smoother without having to use your password every time. But for now, this is still a work in progress.
And let’s not forget about Cortana, an element that will help you locate any file or image stored on your computer or lookup specific information from a certain website. Who could ask for a better assistant? With Windows 10, users also have free Office apps, plus the new browser, dubbed Edge.
This is a free update (1st year only) and you will also need to create a Microsoft account. This is if you want to be constantly informed about what’s new and of course get the newest features from Windows 10. Give it a go and see how you like it, you have a whole year to decide because this is how long the update will be free after it is launched. And not to worry because even if there is a glitch here and there, the improvements won’t stop rolling in. And if you don’t like it, you can always go back to the previous version.
