The current Android-x86 Project launch takes us a step very close to making use of the Android operating system on a laptop or desktop PC.

Nevertheless, these projects suffer from reliability and stability problems. So, if you want a Linux based operating system to operate on every device, Android-x86 might be the best option. The main advantage to operating the Android OS on all your devices will have to do with keeping all your settings, Google services and applications on the same level. That isn’t happening yet, though.

In the month of August, Chih-Wei Huang who is the Project Maintainer for Android-x86 Project made an announcement of its release, specifically the launch of Android-x86-r3, which represents the 3rd stable launch of the project. Although it is refined, it still needs more work done on it.

Other Android Operating Systems

The Android-x86 project is an unofficial program to port the Android mobile OS of Google to operate on devices that are powered by AMD x86 and Intel processes rather than RISC-based ARM chips. To be clear, it is not the exact Google sponsored Android release. This is why most people aren’t surprised the experience of operating this release on their devices is not solid or strong. Also, while downloading, make sure you choose the right one to meet the needs of your hardware.

Issues with Downloads

Downloading this Android version can be quite difficult. This is because it requires jumping through some strange hoops. However, there are so many people who have found these hoops quite exciting to jump and not face any problem at all.

This is one of the best ways to make sure you are not downloading a file you will find difficulties with using in a long run. For your own good, make sure you try downloading the ISO file before. If it fails, then you can use other files. The ISO file will boot your system and boots on a lot of PCs.

Bottom Line

Google is one of the best in the industry where developing new and the best programs are concerned. However, there are times when using their systems can be quite confusing. So, for most people using the backdoor is a better alternative.

Here, the unofficial Android release seems to be the best bet for most people. There are however some challenges that users have experienced from downloading and using this Android version. So, just make sure you do not rush into using it until you are certain it is what you want.
