According to a teardown analysis, the iPad mini 4 device will be a smaller version than the former iPad Air 2 model that was launched back in 2014.
iFixit decided to dismantle the gadget and offer a full review of its layout. One thing is certain though, Apple’s iPad mini 4 houses 2GB of RAM, a step-up that should definitely enhance the device’s performance.
From an aesthetic point of view, the iPad mini 4 is a very thin device, 1.4 mm to be more precise and it has speaker ports which will match the new iPad Pro device and the iPad Air 2 one. As for the display, Apple went all out and choose the Retina one ( the laminated version).
The battery that is integrated in the iPad mini 4 is a 5,124mAh one and according to Apple, this should hold up to 10 straight hours (the Wi-Fi versions) and 9 full hours on cellular ones.
In other news, the FaceTime’s camera footprint was made smaller. Furthermore, the device’s Wi-Fi antennas were also divided. One of the antennas is placed beside the camera unit while the other one is located on the bottom part of the speaker. Note: This is only for the Wi-Fi version of the device.
The iPad mini 4 also sports an A8 SoC, an 8MP iSight camera snapper along with the Touch ID-all of these have been included in the display cable.
Apple’s iPad mini 4 is the perfect substitute for Apple’s former iPad mini 3.
So, if you want to get your hands on the Wi-Fi version that has 16GB internal storage, expect to pay $399 and keep in mind that the higher the storage, the more you will have to pay. So take for example the 64GB version priced at $499 while the 128GB retails for $599.
