If you are one of the Xiaomi fans who have been waiting for the Mi 5 to be released, then you will not like what you’re about to hear. According to the latest rumors, the release date of the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be will be once again delayed.
Earlier rumors were suggesting that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be unveiled in July 2015, following to be released in August 2015. Some other news websites claimed that the device will actually be unveiled on September 24, 2015. However, despite the fact that the alleged unveil date is so close, Xiaomi hasn’t said a word about this upcoming device, yet.
According to WCCF Tech, some sources from Beijing said that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will actually be announced by the end of November 2015. However, that was not confirmed by Xiaomi and so far, the manufacturer hasn’t mentioned anything about the successor of the Xiaomi Mi 4.
If previous rumors about the specs prove to be right, then the Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 5.2-inch QHD display which will support a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and it will be protected by Gorilla Glass 4. When it comes to the internal specs, the device will either feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and which will be backed by 4GB of RAM. The two variants of the internal memory will be 32/64GB and the battery will have a capacity of 3000 mAh. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will also feature a primary camera of 16MP which will be found on the rear side, and a secondary camera of 5MP on the front side, which will be used for selfies.
Xiaomi Mi 4’s successor will also feature a fingerprint sensor and a Type-C USB port. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be priced at 399 dollars, which is pretty high, because the predecessor costs around 225 dollars.
