According to new rumors, LG is considering updating its G3 smartphone directly to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. With other words, the LG G3 might skip the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update.

It seems that major mobile carriers in the US are now preparing their own updates to incorporate within the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as the launch of this new operating system is getting closer and closer.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come via the OTA (over-the-air) feature and you will be able to download it by using an internet connection (Wi-Fi or carrier’s mobile data). Once you will be notified that your device is ready to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you will need to make sure that the phone has at least 50% battery left before proceeding with the download. We also suggest you to use a Wi-Fi internet connection, in order to not waste a significant amount of mobile data.

Keep in mind that the update will come in stages and depending on the carrier your device is connected to, and the region you are from, you will receive it sooner or later than others.

Moto X Play And Moto X Pure Edition To Receive The Android 6.0 Marshmallow

According to new rumors, the Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition smartphones will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon after its official release. The Moto X Pure Edition can already be bought from Motorola’s official website for 400 dollars without a contract.

Currently, both the Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. The Moto X 2016 is expected to be released in the Q3 of 2016 and it will run with Android 6.0 (or later) out of the box.

Rumors say that a Motorola executive is already in talks with major US carriers such as Verizon or AT&T and they are preparing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for both the Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition.

Currently, Google’s Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 models are being used to test the third and final preview version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
