The two Galaxy S6 devices rolled out back in the month of March. They both had Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, however Samsung is planning on releasing the major Android 5.1 Lollipop update for both S6 and S6 Edge devotees.
Although in several areas the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the S6 devices came out, check out the status for the upcoming Android 5.1.1 release targeting users in the US continent.
T-Mobile & Sprint
T-Mobile is the first to roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Look for the G920TUVU2COF8 and G925TUVU1AOF8 built numbers on your device. The update also comes with support for RAW photography as well as lower ISO conditions.
As for Sprint, since the month of July users can find the following built numbers on their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices: G920VPU20F7 respectively G925PVPU2B057. When you perform the update make sure you have 570 MB of free space on the handset or else the update will fail.
Verizon & U.S Cellular
Verizon released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop targeting the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in August. This information is also blurred out on Verizon’s support page. So go see for yourself.
If you have a Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge device and you are on U.S. Cellular, you should already have the update. Look for the following versions: G920R4TYU2BOF7 and G925R4TYU2BOF7.
Those of you who own a Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and are on AT&T will still have to wait for the update because by this time there is no official date unveiled.
