This spring, Lenovo released two important mid-range phablets with the same screen size, but the rest of specs are different. The phones have identical bodies and they are available in the same three color options: Onyx Black, Pearl White and Laser Yellow. In this article, we’ll take a look at both phones and compare their specs and features.

Designs, displays and dimensions

Both phones measure 152.6×76.2×8 mm, but the K3 Note is heavier, weighting 150grams, with 10grams less compared to its sibling. It seems that Lenovo had in mind to add weaker components to the A7000 model, but to keep the original chassis.

This is why the screen has the same dimension of 5-inch, and it’s an IPS. However, the Lenovo K3 Note supports a higher resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which gives a standard pixel density of 401ppi, while the A7000 has a lower resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, while the pixel density is drastically decreased to 267ppi.

The Lenovo devices have a rectangular body with rounded corners and a plastic flat back. The front panel is black and has three capacitive buttons placed below the screen.

The K3 Note has a faster processor, which has four cores clocked at 1.7 GHz, and they’re backed by a Mediatek MT6752 chipset, a Mali-T760MP2 GOU and 2GB of RAM. The A7000 device has the same graphics and RAM capacity, the processor is also Cortex-A53 with eight cores, but they run at 1.5 GHz on a Mediatek MT6752m chipset. Both phones allow you to increase the internal memory up to 32GB, but the K3 Note offers more space: 16GB, compared to 8GB.

The front cameras are identical and support 5MP. The K3 Note has a better back camera which has a resolution of 13MP and comes bundled with features such as dual-LED flash, HDR etc. The A7000 takes decent pictures with its 8MP main camera.

The K3 Note has a slightly bigger battery of 3000mAh which, on paper, offers 36 hours of talk time. The A7000 is equipped with a 2900mAh which is removable, as well, and according to GSMArena, it lasts 16 hours when making voice calls over 3G.

On Amazon, the Lenovo K3 Note costs only 163 dollars, while the A7000 is sold in India for the price of 140 dollars.
