The release of the Nexus 5 2015 is approaching and we’re hearing more rumors about its specs, as more leaks keep surfacing. It is said that the device will come in October, alongside the Nexus 6 2015 phablet, which was built by Huawei.
Last month, Sony announced a new dust and water proof device, which looks like most of the Z models, but instead of glass, it uses plastic for the back.
Displays and Dimensions
The latest leaked score card from AnTuTu suggests that the nexus 5 2015 will feature a Full HD screen, but we already know from the previous rumors that the size of the display will be 5.2-inch. This is a slight improvement over the 2013 model, which came with a 5-inch screen supporting 1080 x 1920 pixels at 445ppi.
If LG will truly retain the Full HD resolution, then the resulted pixel density will be 423ppi, while a 2K or Quad HD resolution would give a pixel density of 565ppi. The famous tipster @OnLeaks posted on Twitter that the dimensions of the new Nexus 5 will be 146.9×72.9x8mm, but because the rear camera will have a bulge around it, the thickness will be expanded to 9.8mm. Also, the chassis will be made of plastic.
The Xperia M5, which is expected to be available in stores in September, will have an IPS LCD screen sized at 5-inch, which supports the usual Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441ppi pixel density. This phone has a flat plastic back and protected corners, it weights 142.5 grams and measures 145x72x7.6 mm.
Hardware and OS
All rumors claim that the Nexus 5 2015 will be powered by a hexa core Snapdragon 808 processor which will be paired with Adreno 418 graphics and 3GB of RAM. The battery will most likely support a capacity of 2700mAh, and on the back will be placed a fingerprint scanner. The device is expected to be shipped with the new USB Type-C and will run on Android Marshmallow out of the box.
The Xperia M5 will run on Android v5.0 (Lollipop) with 3GB of RAM and inside, it will hide a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset which will be powered by an octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor. The configuration will be completed by a PowerVR G6200 GPU and 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 200GB. Its battery will be slightly smaller at 2600mAh and will be non-replaceable.
The Nexus 5 2015 will feature a 13MP rear camera built by Sony, which offers optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash.
The Xperia M5 will feature a 21.5MP primary camera with LED flash, phase detection autofocus, LED flash and HDR, while the front camera will take amazing selfies, being helped by the high resolution of 13MP.
