We have two Chinese phones for you: one is a phablet and the other one is a “normal” phone with reasonable dimensions. Both of them have plastic bodies and black front panels, so they’re quite similar in terms of dimensions. But under the hood, things are different.

Dimensions and displays

You will find the Lenovo K3 Note in three variants of colors: Onyx Black, Pearl White and Laser Yellow and you will notice that it sits perfectly in your hand because it’s neither thick, nor too wide. It measures 152.6×76.2×8 mm and it’s very light at 150grams.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes in more variants of colors: Black, White, Dark Gray, Yellow, Blue and Pink, it weights 150grams and its dimensions are 138.1×69.6×7.8 mm. Likewise the K3 Note, it features three capacitive buttons below the screen.

Hardware and OS

Lenovo equipped its phablet with a Mediatek MT6752 chipset that houses a octa core Cortex-A53 processor running at 1.7GHz, which is backed by Mali-T760MP2 and 2GB of RAM. The Mi 4i uses a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset which supports a combination of two quad core processors (1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 and 1 GHz Cortex-A53) which are paired with Adreno 405 graphics and 2GB of RAM.

The Mi 4i has unexpandable internal storage and the two variants have capacities of 16 and 32GB, while the K3 Note has 16GB of storage, which can be doubled with a microSD card.

The K3 Note comes loaded with Android OS, v5.0 (Lollipop) and Vibe UI 2.0 on top of it, while the Xiaomi device runs on Android OS, v5.0.2 (Lollipop), which is skinned by MIUI 6.0.

There’s no difference between the cameras of the two phones, as their resolutions are identical: 13MP on the back and 5MP on the front. Both phones share common features: dual-LED flash, autofocus, HDR and 1080p video capture at 30fps.

You can replace the battery of the K3 Note with another one that has a capacity of 3000 mAh battery, while the Mi 4i has a slightly bigger battery of 3120 mAh and it’s non-removable.

If you’ll buy the Lenovo K3 Note from Amazon, you’ll pay 161 dollars, while the Mi 4i is available in India at a price of 196 dollars.
