Apple’s latest flagship is a masterpiece and it had better specs than many of the rivals that were released in the same period – the fall of 2014. OnePlus is a fast growing company which had a big success with the debut device. A successor was required and it came with small improvements, so we’ll see how the OnePlus Two can stack against the iPhone 6.
It’s easy to pick the winner here, and most of you will agree that the anodized aluminum body of the iPhone 6, which has curved edges and thin strips on the back, feels great in the hand. It’s bigger in size compared to the previous models, measuring 138.1x67x6.9mm, but it’s relatively light at 129grams. The device is available in three color shades: silver, space grey and gold and it has a fingerprint scanner on the front panel, hidden inside the home button.
The OnePlus Two is almost identical to its predecessor, except that it received a fingerprint as well, which sits between the two capacitive buttons. As for the design, there has been an increase of 1mm in thickness, to accommodate a bigger battery, but the form of the body is unchanged. The device has a height of 151.8mm, a width of 74.9mm and a weight of 175grams, it feels bulkier, but its back isn’t slippery, thanks to the Sandstone Black texture. If you don’t like this back plate, you can select a different material: Bamboo, Kevlar, Rosewood or Black Apricot.
The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD whose resolution is 750 x 1334 pixels – resulting in a pixel density of 326ppi. The OnePlus Two is a phablet with a massive 5.5inches LTPS LCD that supports Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (401ppi). The iPhone 6 has a brighter screen that measures 559 nits, compared to 600 nits of the OnePlus Two.
Apple has built its own chipset, so the company doesn’t depend on other manufacturers. Its currently iPhone is powered by a powerful Apple A8 dual-core 1.4GHz Cyclone processor that requires only 1GB of RAM and which is coupled with PowerVR GX6450 graphics, being capable of handling complex games and applications. The OnePlus Two received the new Snapdragon 810 chipset that houses an octa core processor coupled with Adreno 430 graphics and 3GB of RAM/16GB of storage or 4GB of RAM/32GB of storage, and it has no problem running 3D games. The memory options of the iPhone 6 are 16, 64 and 128GB, and none of them can be expanded.
The iPhone 6 supports NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, GPS and a Lightning cable and a USB Type C port, while the OnePlus Two has GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and the same USB Type C.
The resolution of the camera from the back of the iPhone 6 is 8MP, but it has a /3in sensor and 1.5µm pixel size, an aperture of ƒ/2.2 aperture, dual-LED flash and it supports 1080p video recording at 60fps.
The OnePlus Two offers a 13MP main camera with laser autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash and 2160p video capture at 30fps, but it can’t record slow-motion videos.
The 1.2MP camera from the front side of the iPhone 6 competes against OnePlus Two’s 5MP secondary camera.
The iPhone 6 has a small battery with a capacity of 1810mAh that doesn’t provide too many hours of talking time, but the users can add a battery case and extend the phone’s life. The OnePlus Two is fitted with a 3300mAh battery, which is also non-removable.
