During the past weeks, the guys from Samsung have made some big efforts to update their smartphones to the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. After a few models were updated to the Android 5.1 Lollipop, it seems that now is the time for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to get updated. This update is available for the Polish Galaxy Note 4 device that’s powered by an Exynos 5433 processor and has the model number SM-N910C.
The Galaxy Note 4 was already running on the Android 5.0 Lollipop, so the features such as the Material Design, improved notifications panel, locked screen notifications, Smart Lock, screen pinning, multi user support and many more were already available on the device.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 comes with a few minor changes such as: improved battery life, better operating system stability and performance boosts. This update is also fixing the Stagefright bug, which we’re pretty sure that will make a lot of users happy.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA is available for the Poland users and in case you didn’t receive it yet, you can manually check for it by going to Settings->About Phone->Software updates->Check for software updates.
Keep in mind that only the Galaxy Note 4 devices (model number SM-N910C) that run on the official Android build will receive the new software update. With other words, if you have a custom ROM installed on your Galaxy Note 4, you will not get the new software update.
Android 5.1 Lollipop Update With Stagefright Fix, Released For The HTC One M9 Devices That Are Connected To AT&T
As soon as the Stagefright security exploit was discovered, the guys from Google promised that they are going to release a patch soon enough, to fix this issue. It seems that the AT&T carrier is getting an update for the HTC One M9, which includes the Stagefright fix.
Keep in mind that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for HTC One M9 is being rolled out by AT&T in batches. With other words, it will take a few days until it will be available for everyone.
We remind you that the HTC One M9 received the Android 5.1 Lollipop back in July, so don’t expect any major improvements.
The new Android 5.1 Lollipop update comes with the build number 2.6.502.18 and has 55.53MB in size. We suggest you to be connected to a Wi-Fi network while downloading the patch and make sure that your device’s battery life is above 50%.
In case you didn’t receive the update yet, you can also manually check for the update by going to Settings->General->About Phone->Software update. Even if the new Android 5.1 Lollipop build doesn’t bring any new major features to your HTC One M9, we suggest you to install it right away, especially for the Stagefright fix, as this is one of the biggest security flaws that affected Android until now.
