To all appearances, Google is secretly working on a device, a tablet moniker Nexus 8.
The hearsays regarding the Nexus 5 2015 are still spreading, while in the meantime the Nexus 8 2015 device has reached Geekbench. The latter is considered a site destined for trials and tests. During these tests, some specs have also been leaked.
While LG and Huawei Nexus 5 2015 are approaching the launch date, Google is on the verge of revealing the upcoming iteration of devices, tablets to be more accurate. Let us recall that in 2014, the Nexus 9 tablet and the Nexus 6 were launched by Google. In 2015, the Nexus 8 2015 is the runner-up.
Based on the Geekbench benchmark analysis, the Nexus 8 tablet was functioning on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but Phone Arena is convinced that Android M will be the OS running on the Nexus 8 device as soon as the latter rolls out.
Moving on to other fine points regarding the Nexus 8 tablet, under the hood the latter device will be fired-up by an octa-core CPU, running at 1.3 GHz. As for the chipset, Google has got its eye on the MedieTek one and if we were to listen to the rumors, the display of the tablet might be an 8-inch one.
If we were to stack up the Nexus 8 2015 tablet against the Nexus 9 one (made by HTC), we will notice that the latter has an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with 1,536×2,048 pixels resolution. The Nexus 9 runs on Android v5.1.1 Lollipop and it has a dual-core, Nvidia Tegra K1 Denver processor, running at 2.3 GHz.
Unfortunately, there is no official information regarding the producer of the Nexus 8 2015 tablet. The here and now generation tablet Nexus 9 was in the hands of the HTC Company while the Nexus 7 (as well as the 2nd generation of the latter) was manufactured by Asus.
