WhatsApp Web now works on iPhones without the need of jailbreaking your iPhone as it has been the case in the past.

WhatsApp for The web, an application that Facebook rolled out at the start of this year, only used to work on Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia S60.

This application lets the more than 800 million users of this application also access their messages from a PC or tablet via a web browser.

WhatsApp Web iPhone

As opposed to what many expected, this web version still maintains the aspect of not having passwords and usernames in WhatsApp login process. Users only need to scan a QR code using their phones in order to be logged into the app, however, they must also stay signed in on the phone app in order to receive the messages on desktops.

Now that this ability is coming to the iPhone, it means WhatsApp is just about to get handier with respect to users of iOS smartphones. It also means that iPhone users will now be able to sync their smartphones with the web version of WhatsApp and thus continue their conversations right from the web browser.

According to the latest reports, the feature is being rolled out gradually and in due time, all iPhone users will have it installed on their phones.

No more “Apple platform limitations.”

As noted earlier, WhatsApp Web was rolled out to Android users back in January this year. However, those using iOS phones were unable to use this application on their desktops, and when asked, WhatsApp cited that there were “Apple platform limitations” that prevented the integration of WhatsApp Web into iPhones.

However, it seems WhatsApp and Apple have resolved what was hindering this process, and finally WhatsApp Web is on iOS. Just like the Android version, this new WhatsApp for The web for iPhone users will be mirroring phone messages to your desktop and as a result, you will still have all your WhatsApp messages on your phone.
