There is no doubt that Samsung has done away with its plastic designs for their flagship smartphones.

This started showing up when the Galaxy Note 4 came with a metallic frame and now that Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Pus and Note 5 have followed suit with a glass and metallic body, it is certain that this Korean tech giant is no longer working on plastic designs.

There are many other improvements that have come in with these devices, mainly because of the rate at which technology is advancing today. But if at all money is not a problem to you, then the Galaxy Note 5 is one device you will want to have in your toy store.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Android Update


The design of these two phones is one of the major differences in their physical looks. The Note 5 has a body build that is made of metal, measures 153.2 by 76.1 by 7.6 mm, and has a weight of 171 grams. This phone is lighter and thinner than the Galaxy Note 4 and as usual, this phone comes with an S Pen, which is more like a real pen for writing and it’s a lot more than just a pen as it simply makes life easier for you.

The phablet comes with a dual edge back to ensure that holding it in one hand is not a problem. However, make sure your pocket is big enough to accommodate this giant smartphone.

The size of the screen has been maintained at 5.7 inches, same as that of the Note 4. In addition, features such as QHD Super AMOLED touchscreen, a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 515 pixels per inch have been carried over from the old Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The screen is also protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 4 technology to ensure this precious and very expensive device stays safe even when it falls.


When looking at the performance of this new Galaxy Note 4, you will notice that it only but gets better. A new octa-core Exynos 7420 processoris clocked at 2.1GHz and 1.5GHz. You will also come across a massive RAM of 4GB, which is the largest size of any Samsung device.

There is also a better camera on the Galaxy Note 5 when compared to the Note 4. A rear camera of 16MP and a front facing camera of 5MP are found on the latest device while the older one has 16MP on the rear, but only 3.7MP on the front.In terms of the operating system, the Galaxy Note 5 is equipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. However, this should not be of any bother to you as the Galaxy Note 4 will also be receiving this Android Lollipop update.

The storage department is another area where changes have been rung by Samsung. There is no longer room for microSD cards on these smartphones. Instead, Samsung has three variants with the least storage size coming in at 32GB, and the largest size available is 128GB. You can also opt for the medium size, which is 64GB.

The Galaxy Note 5 comes with a 3000mAh battery unit, which is 10% less than what you get on the Note 4. However, you will still enjoy more battery life with this non-removable battery than the removable battery in the Note 4.


Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will start selling in the United States today August 21st at a price of about $740 for the 32GB variant and $840 for the $64GB variant.
