Motorola has recently launched a few devices on the market: Moto X Style, Moto X Play and the Moto G 2015. The truth is that most customers were excited about the X series, but the Moto G 2015 is actually a very good smartphone regarding specifications and low price. If you are in the United States and are interested in a Motorola device, the Moto G 2015 will be released with the help of U.S. Cellular and Virgin Mobile.
Motorola’s Moto G 2015 is an updated version of the Moto G that was released last year. Let’s take a look at the specs and figure out what’s changed and if the device is worth buying or not.
The tech giant didn’t make any changes when it comes to the display features. The display measures 5 inches and can render a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The pixel density is of 294 ppi (pixels per inch).
Processor & OS
The 2014 version of this smartphone has a quad-core processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset that runs at 1.2 GHz. The RAM capacity is of 1 GB. As for the operating system it runs, it’s the Android KitKat (version 4.4.4).
The 2015 version will run faster because it has a slightly better processor: quad-core equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset running at 1.4 GHz. The RAM capacity is either of 1 GB or 2 GB. In the OS department, Motorola made some great updates, the Moto G 2015 running Android Lollipop (version 5.1.1).
The Moto G 2014 shows off 8 GB of internal memory, which is not much. However, the device allows the use of a microSD card that increases the storage capacity by 32 GB.
The Moto G 2015 has two options of internal storage capacity: 8 GB and 16 GB. This smartphone also has a microSD card slot that will ensure up to 32 GB more memory.
Motorola’s last year gadget had a 8 MP principal camera, while the secondary one has only 2 MP. This year, the company is upping their game to satisfy the market’s demands: the Moto G 2015 has a 13 MP principal camera, while the secondary one has 5 MP.
The company also increased the battery capacity, bringing it from 2070 mAh to 2470 mAh. The capacity is quite good for the processor at hand, the device’s battery lasting a decent amount of time.
The new smartphone does bring some improvements from its predecessor and is retailing at a great price for its features (179.99 US dollars). In our opinion, this device will be worth its money.
