Of all the smartphones out there in mobile land, perhaps the most anticipated one is the revamped Nexus 5 for 2015.
Because we all know Google takes care if its babies by bringing the latest Android OS to its latest mobile handset. There has been a myriad of rumors that the premier handset will be resurrected not in just one form, but two, from two different manufacturers.
Take the Nexus 5 (2015) from LG for instance. LG has been making Nexus devices, and the company has incorporated the best and the latest technology into their version of the Nexus 2015 phone. Check out the rumored specs for LG’s Nexus 5 (2015):
- A metal body which measures 146.9 x 79.9 x 9.8 mm
- A smaller 5.2-inch screen
- Front facing speakers
- Fingerprint sensor on the back of the device
- USB Type-C
As for other the other Nexus 5 (2015) from Huawei, the device has been rumored to have identical specs to the one LG is making except for one big difference – the screen. Huawei’s Nexus 5 for 2015 has been speculated to be larger coming in at 5.7 inches. Another fresh report says that Huawei may opt to do the Nexus 6 (2015) rather than a Nexus 5 (2015) but this has not been confirmed yet.
Either way, two Nexus devices from two different manufacturers will make a great spectacle if and when they are released. As to the devices’ pricing, which is very important to the buying public, LG’s offering is said to be cheaper than the one coming from Huawei. We won’t mention any price yet, but we can expect a figure between $300 and $400… so get your wallets ready folks.
Both Nexus devices are rumored to be unveiled this coming end of September or early October, which incidentally coincides with Google’s release of what is now dubbed as Android M, the next iteration of Android, presently know as Lollipop 5.1.1 version. Some quarters are speculating that the “M” may stand for “Milkshake” but the guessing game will continue up to the time Google decides what moniker its new OS will be called.
Naturally, we expect both devices to come out running Android M, or whatever it may be officially called when it comes out, the later part of this year. The good thing about all of these rumors and unconfirmed reports is that everyone’s excited to know more about what the search giant has up its sleeve to get that “Wow” response from its loyal followers. Of course, that includes me since I have been a Nexus freak ever since the first one came out.
We have a lot to look forward to, here’s hoping that Google’s new devices will live up to the hype that has generated a lot of electricity these last few months.
