One of the most popular mobile custom ROM developer communities, Paranoid, has released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE model. It seems that this version comes with many bug fixes that were found on the previously released software.
At the same time, the new version of Android comes with optimization features which will increase the battery life of your device and improve the user experience.
Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop features
- Android M series wallpapers;
- Ability to enable the pulsing LED option on boot;
- New translation features have been added;
- New key control options have been added;
- Ambient display that you can enable and disable.
Keep in mind that the new Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop can be installed ONLY on the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 4G-LTE model (the one that features a Snapdragon Chipset). In case you don’t know which version of Samsung Galaxy S4 you have, go to your device’s Settings->About Phone->Model Number. At the same time, before trying to install this custom ROM on your Galaxy S4 LTE device, make sure that the device is rooted and that you have installed the USB drivers on the computer. If the drivers are not installed on your computer, the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE will not be detected.
Before you start the installation, make sure that you backup data, because when installing a new ROM on your device, the memory will be deleted. At the same time, you should make sure that you have 80% or more battery left on your device before starting the installation. This way, you will make sure that your device will not “die” in the middle of the installation.
Installing Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on your Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE
First of all, search and download the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM and Google Apps to your computer. After that, connect the Galaxy S4 LTE on your computer via the USB cable.
Now that the Galaxy S4 LTE is connected to your computer, copy the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Google Apps on the microSD card memory. (make sure that you copy the.zip files directly on the root directory of the microSD card and not in a folder). Now, you will need to disconnect your mobile device from the computer and restart it.
Press and hold the Volume Up+Power+Home buttons to enter recovery mode and select the wipe data/factory reset to clear the phone’s memory. After that, you will need to clear the cache by selecting the “wipe cache partition”. Now, you will need to go back to ClockworkMod recovery, tap advanced->wipe dalvik cache.
Finally, get back to the main recovery screen and tap “install zip from SD card” and select the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM .zip file in order to start the installation process. You will also need to follow the same procedure for the Google Apps .zip file.
When the installation process is finished, select the “Go Back” button and restart the device by selecting “reboot system now”. The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE will now boot on the custom Paranoid Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM. In order to make sure that you run this custom ROM on your Galaxy S4 LTE go to Settings->About Phone.
