The developers of WhatsApp had a really busy summer, as they’ve released new versions of WhatsApp for many mobile operating systems. It seems that the WhatsApp version 2.12.100 for Windows Phone is currently in BETA phase and it comes with some new features.

Usually, the developers of WhatsApp are releasing updates for devices that run on the most used mobile operating systems out there, which is Android OS.

So, in case you don’t own an Android device, then you didn’t see very often new WhatsApp updates for your smartphone.


However, from time to time, the developers of WhatsApp also release new updates for smartphones that run on iOS, BlackBerry, Symbian etc. It seems that the WhatsApp application is on the right track, as it currently has over 800 million active users, which and the number keeps growing from a day to another.

WhatsApp 2.12.100 for Windows Phone: What’s new?

The WhatsApp 2.12.100 version for Windows Phone is currently in BETA, which means that in order to install it on your smartphone, you will need to manually install it, as it will not be found on the Windows Store. The new WhatsApp version allows you to set custom ringtones for each of your WhatsApp contacts.

This way, in case you set a ringtone for a WhatsApp contact, whenever (s)he will call you via the WhatsApp Voice Calling feature, you will know who’s calling without even looking at the smartphone’s screen.

In addition, the new version of WhatsApp will also give you a few more details about the WhatsApp Voice Calls. This way, you will know how much time you’ve talked using the WhatsApp Voice Calling feature and more important, how much data you’ve used using this feature.


We’re not sure when WhatsApp 2.12.100 will pass the BETA phase, but we’re pretty sure that it will not take too long to the developers to release it as a STABLE version.
