U.S President Barack Obama was chatting about bionic limbs in the Blue Room last week during the second annual White House Science Fair to celebrate student winners of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) competitions from across the United States.
Anand Srinivasan, 15, whose EEG & Prosthetics Project was a finalist in the Google Science Fair 2011, clearly impressed the president when he showed his scientific project. The work involves the use of the Emotiv EPOC headset and the OpenVibe software platform, to examine the use of electroencephalography (EEG) and prosthetic technology to make a more functional artificial limb.
