LG left out a lot of features found in the V20, when developing the V30.
There is some grumbling about this fact, but the latest release from the company has also received glowing admiration for the new features it has introduced. LG has shown that it is a formidable competitor in the smartphone and domestics appliancesscene, and their new innovations on the V30 are in keeping with this reputation.
Users agree that the aesthetics of the phone are amazing. The all-glass design is something that makes the eyes pop, when looking at the V30. Other features that users find hot are the OLED screen and the camera. Here is what users think of the new LG V30.
Really hot looks
The LG V30 is a deliciously put-together smartphone. The 6-inch 18:9 Quad HD OLED screen is a sight to behold. Most phones with such large screens have large bodies, but the V30 is quite compact and light, weighing in at only 158g. The refined design makes it more comfortable to hold and use, and this is something that users feel good about. The curves on the front and back make it fit snugly into the hand. No more holding a phone that you cannot get your hands around which makes it slip often.
The design of the V30 has a strong resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8, and this is something that has excited users immensely. They have done away with bezels and embraced a screen design that fills up most of the front.
The front and back are covered by Gorilla Glass 5, which is quite susceptible to fingerprint smudges, but LG has added a nifty cleaning cloth into the box. The V30 will come in black, dark blue, silver, and purple. All these will have black fronts.
A cinematographic camera
The LG V30 camera promises an exciting adventure into photography and videography. It has a 16 megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.6 apertures. The wide lens will give better images in low-light environments. The second camera is a wide-angle camera for taking panoramic images. There will be no more squeezing together when taking pictures of a large group of people. The second camera has an f/1.9 aperture but does not have OIS.
Users are thrilled with the filters for editing footage taken with the camera. The editing features begin with some 15 Cine effects, and then goes on into advanced techniques such as color grading and log curves. You do not need a computer to come out with amazing videos and photos. You shoot your footage, edit it on the phone, and then share it directly to several sites on the Internet.
The finest OLED screen
LG has been at the forefront in making televisions with crystal-clear OLED screens, but has never put this technology into their smartphones until now. Users are excited about having a screen with the finest pixels, displaying content to its best level.
The display is a 2880 X 1440 “Full Vision” HDR 10 screen that is so much better than the best in past LG models, the G6. When you watch a HD movie on the V30, you will forget that you are using a mobile phone. That is just how clear the colors or the new screen are.
The features above are drawing a lot of admiration from users, but there are others which are worthy of mention:
- An IP68 waterproof, MIL-STD-810G military grade body.
- 68 GB in-built storage capacity (128 GB for the V30 Plus) and a MicroSD slot.
- Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB RAM.
- Fingerprint, voice and face recognition
- Large 3,300mAh battery with Qnovo technology. The battery supports QuickCharge 3.0 wireless charging
If the praise showered on the features of the LG V30 are anything to go by, it may take on the Samsung Galaxy S8 for the title of Best Smartphone of 2017. LG has taken a bold step and manufactured a smartphone that is several generations ahead of their last model, the V20. Users are anxiously awaiting the handsets on the market, so they can start taking advantage of these new features.
