We have to admit that Google has been one of the first companies to see the real worth in making the VR technology accessible. As example, the Google Cardboard initiative has triggered an entire series of VR accessories. For example, the company is now cutting down the price of the Daydream View mobile VR headset, from $79 to $49. Needless to say, fans were particularly excited about this news, even though the offer is going to be available for a limited period of time.
The Daydream view headset is seen by many as a premium version for the Google Cardboard product. This means that it supports a larger range of smartphones, similar to the way in which Cardboard does, but the product is in itself built from better materials offering a high quality experience. It also comes with a built-in head strap and it includes a wireless controller for the apps that it can support.
Naturally, the Google company would prefer it if you were willing to buy together with the device their new Pixel product, which is “Daydream ready”, as they announce. However, if you don’t want to do that, the headset is perfectly functional with any smartphone that supports VR apps, so no worries about that.
The View is available in three colors, namely Snow, Crimson and Slate, but remember that the headset is in fact placed in a fabric layer, which means that it is not a bright idea to choose the white model if you have kids or if you’re a spill-prone adult.
Remember that the special price for the Google headset is available starting today, up until the 25th of February, when the price will go back to the initial $79 price. If you’re still doubting whether you should take advantage of this offer or not, you should check their apps and features online to convince yourself.
